Finlandia Hall, Monday 3 June
The first week of June, the sun is shining and Helsinki is the location for The World Circular Economic Forum. This event hosted by the Finnish Innovation Fund, Sitra, brings together the worlds leading minds on all things Circular. Koepala is delighted to have been invited to attend this years event.
What is the WCEF?
Now in its third year, The World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) is the global initiative of Finland and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. The WCEF brings together more than 2,000 business leaders, policymakers and experts to present the world’s best circular economy solutions. The WCEF examines how businesses can seize new opportunities, gain a competitive advantage through circular economy solutions and how the circular economy contributes to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It is refreshing to see organisations, businesses and individuals who share our belief that truly competitive solutions are born when business and environment go hand in hand.
Why is it important to Koepala?
Koepala are a circular business. The circular economy, cradle to cradle solutions and an engaged value chain are imperative to our business objectives. When innovating our packaging our solution we keep circularity at the forefront of our mind and are engineering, and designing our solutions to ensure that the throw-away, disposable culture comes to an end.
Events like the WCEF allow Koepala to promote our agenda, learn from experts in the field and also to challenge existing thinking. Packaging will play a vital role in circular solutions in the years to come. For Koepala to progress as a business it is key for us to be represented at such events.
What is in store for the week?
We have to hand it to Sitra, when the world comes to Finland - they ensure the best of Finland is on show. Not sure how they orchestrated the weather but these blue skies look to ensure a positive few days are ahead.
For the Koepala team we will be present at the Finlandia Hall for the seminars and networking. But the headline event for us will come on Tuesday (4 June) when we have been invited to present our solution as part of the CleanTech Venture Day. This allows us to show how our solution and business models fit into the circular business model.
If you are following our Social Media accounts we will be sure to keep you updated on our movements at the conference, but needless to say we are looking forward to what the week will bring.
